Q: Please introduce yourself.
A: Hello! I’m Sheryl. Thank you so much for visiting my blog When Hungry.
Q: Tell something about your blog When Hungry.
A: This blog is a collection of my tried and tested recipes.

Q: Why “When Hungry” when all we can see are desserts?
A: Sorry about that. I originally wanted to create a food/restaurant review blog but somehow it turned out to be a recipe blog.

Q: Who’s that little boy in your food photos?
A: My assistant, 4-year-old fluffball Yael.
Q: When did you learned baking?
A: I think when I was in college. My father bought a small oven and few basic baking tools. Then I started testing out recipes on YouTube.
Q: What/Who inspired you to bake?
A: Hmmm… I like to cook since I was a kid, but Betty from Betty’s Kitchen on YouTube inspired me to bake. I like her Checkmate Chess Bars and I like listening to her intro “Hi, I’m Betty. Welcome to Betty’s Kitchen”, it’s like music to my ears. She’s kind too. She always replies and gives tips to her viewers.
Q: When did you started blogging?
A: I had a recipe blog on Blogger way back 2008. I named it “The Frustrated Chef” lol! That blog was up for 4 years with only 3 recipes. Yes 3 recipes! I was busy with my work as a production engineer and software engineer so I took it down for good.
Q: Why did you start blogging again?
A: I feel it would be a waste if I just write the recipes in a notebook and keep it in the shelf forever. Also, I’m not a fan of too sweet desserts so I started to make “less sweet” versions. Of course, some desserts being too sweet can’t be helped. But I always try to lessen the sweetness of my dessert recipes as much as I could.
Q: What type of recipes do you usually make?
A: I love baking and I love desserts therefore most recipes I share require the use of oven. But I also make no bake and savory recipes from time to time.
Q: Favorite desserts?
A: I have this weird obsession for desserts in square form and I don’t know why. Maybe they are easy and convenient to make? I love cookies and cheesecakes more than my eyebrows (I always forget to trim my brows for months because of baking)
Q: Do you sell your baked goodies?
A: Yes, if the ingredients are available. But my chocolate chip cookies are available all year round! Just send me a message.
Q: Do you have other interests aside from baking?
A: Clouds, stars, outer space, airplanes (but I don’t like riding them), ukulele, rainy days, emojis, Japanese dramas, anime and reading manga. Currently into KPop. I want to be an animator, seiyū or mangaka in my next life. Oh, I loooooove Japanese food and culture too! (Japan adopt me pleeeease! Onegaishimasu!)
Q: Any message for your readers?
A: Thank you for reading my blog and baking with me. I hope you enjoy my recipes.
